Spider Mountain - Texas Bike Park
Quarantine-free travel is in place between Australia and New Zealand, however international borders remain closed to all other countries. Riders from all over New Zealand and around the world come to Queenstown to experience the challenge of iconic mountain bike trails in spectacular alpine scenery. Queenstown is the place where icons come to ride, with world famous bike parks, excellent trails and diversity of terrain to suit all styles. Queenstown mountain bike trails range from fun, flowy trails, to steep descents, scenic forest trails and technical singletrack. Accessible gravity-fed bike parks include Queenstown Bike Park, a community recreation reserve with over 30 trails and metres of vertical descent, open year round in the heart of town.
FEASIBILITY & PLANNING
As part of the cycling plan, the Parks Board will develop alternative shortcut bike routes. IVGID will maintain, renew, expand and enhance District infrastructure to meet the capacity needs and desires of the community for future generations. The city is collecting feedback on the corridor and its bike lanes at A Better Bikeway. Feedback may be emailed to mobilegr grcity.
The objective of this project is to deliver high quality, progressive trails and a community space, offering something for everyone, from beginners to elite athletes. For Cycle Pathway, our support helped them to plan how they will manage the construction phase and ramp up of operations over the next few years. Crown Commercial Service supports the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services. It is funded by the Growth Fund, which was set up by the Big Lottery Fund and Big Society Capital to support social investors committed to meeting the funding needs of charities and social enterprises. Leeds City Council, Sport England and British Cycling provided initial funding for the venue, and then to secure the investment from Sporting Capital, Cycle Pathway CIC produced a plan which demonstrated how they will run the business successfully and have a wide impact in the local community.
